Vision Board & Goal Action Plan

It is a scientific fact that we are more likely to succeed on the journey or project when we have the end envisioned. That is why many different types of people have you start with goals, therapy, fitness trainers, life coaches and more. That is where you will start today!

The inspiration board, vision board, dream board, whatever you call it is a visual representation of the life that you are aiming for. This must reflect the life that you hope to have.

Now is the time to sit down and ask yourself…

 

WHAT DO I WANT?

 

Think about the different categories in your life, family, style, health, passions, everything that makes you YOU and everything that you hope to be one day.

After you have these ideas go to pintrest and pin everything that really speaks to you. After that choose about 20 pictures to print out that speak the most to you.

If you have a planner I recommend making the sheet just a little smaller so you can keep it with you at all times. If you never use it, you wont be inspired by it. My planner is 8” x 10” so I made mine just a tad smaller about 7.5” x 9.5”.

Its just like a fun craft project from when you were younger. Print them all out and paste them on cardstock or a thicker paper to make it more durable. It might take you a few tries to get the photo sizes right but this project is really important. You should feel inspired and excited every time you look at this.

Here is a quick look at what mine looks like as an example.

 

Vision board

Its not perfect. I didn’t obsess over the lines because that would have taken away from some of the fun so don’t stress about it just make sure that its you!

On the back I want you to write out what these photos mean to you. I want you to have your goals in words and pictures. At the end of the explanation I want you to write the names of a few people that you want to emulate and that inspire you. Name the reason they are on your list. Who knows, maybe someday you will tell them about your list and what you admire about them and they will give you tips or tricks to get you there.

Again here is mine as an example.

Dream Board

·        I want to have confidence in my: looks, style/fashion, and to feel beautiful

·        I want a simple/minimalistic lifestyle

·        I want to have a dream house to raise a family

·        I want a successful blog that allows me to have freedom

·        I want to be good at photography

·        I want to be a good cook

·        I want to have friends and have fun adventures with them

·        I want to be strong spiritually

·        I want to have a strong happy marriage

·        I want to travel

·        I want to be fit and feel healthy and sexy

·        I want to have and capture beautiful moments

I want to be like mom, Barb, Eve, and Meggie. They make life look easy, simple, joyful, fun, and are spiritually strong women.

 

To be clear: these do not have to be in any order and if you don’t have a picture that represents something you want you should include that here in the text so it is not forgotten.

This is your little life poster. If you work hard hopefully your life will look exactly like this soon enough!


The difference between a dream and a goal is an action plan. The next step is to come up with a plan with dates by which that step will be completed. Pick one goal that you want to tackle now. You can start with something easy or go for the hard one that is the most important to you. It is personal preference. 

Here are the steps that I take when looking: 

I list out the goal and my oval time frame. 

Example Goal: I want to be fit and healthy                Overall time frame: Aug-Nov (4 months)

Then I list out the steps in 10 steps or under. In each step I include either a due date or a space of time this will be done in depending on the goal.

Example Step 1. Go to gym 2x a week while eating healthy on workout days duration week 1-2

For each step if possible go from easy to hard.

With your life poster and your goal action plan there is nothing that could stop you if you stick to it. Get started now and comment what your first goal will be or post a picture of you vision board! Good luck and don't forget to have fun.
